Jory has been so helpful with answering questions we had concerning our child’s behaviour but more so reassuring us of what we were already implementing. We wanted tips for us as parents to help our child in certain situations and Jory definitely delivered. She is understanding, patient and has such compassion. She was a joy to speak to and after every session we felt more confident in the way we parent our child and also more equipped when certain situation would arise. Thanks a million Jory!” Anita D’Antonio

“I just wanted to say thank you for all the counselling you gave to us.
I always knew we would be good parents because we had great intentions. I laugh however at the thought that I would know how to “do” good parenting without the proper language for it. You gave that to me and I’ll be forever grateful because I saw it in my son’s eyes when we applied it.
I continue to apply the mindset and it helps everytime.
My son was re-evaluated and confirmed to have ADHD. We continue the work on his difficulties and are able to enjoy his strengths a lot more now. The same seems to apply for his school community as they are adapting. Again thank you, and I continue to spread the word to my friends about your craft. It’s so important. My son is not perfect, I love that about him, and he’s happy, and that’s my heartbeat that keeps me going. Thank you again”. Linda Benjamin

“When I first reached out to see a specialist, I was extremely nervous and emotional. I felt so down and felt like I was failing my child. It broke my heart because I am a first time mom and was being overloaded with advice and tips ranging from the internet to close friends and family. It was extremely stressful. I was pared with Callie to have a meeting with her, and it was an amazing experience. Callie really helped me to calm my nerves and reassured me constantly that having my emotions were normal and that my child's behavior was normal and not terrible as people made it out to be. ( my 4 year Olds daughters educator forced me to get her professional help because my daughter isn't "normal" ). Callie was absolutely wonderful and incredibly helpful. She was reassuring and kind. The techniques that I was given were so helpful and at the end of our session she wrote up everything that was talked about for reference which was so great to have because I was able to refer back to when I needed to. I definitely recommend Callie, for so me reasons. She's professional and knowledgeable as well as kind and reassuring. She's great to work with. Highly recommend” Kate-lyn Howell

She is very dedicated to her work and we are lucky to have her services!” Carolyn Titley, Family Support Worker @ Rising Sun Daycare

“There are no classes for being a good parent and while there are certain tried and true things you should do, sometimes we need additional help with our kids. This is where Jory comes in. We were stymied by sleep issues and a brief spell of challenging toddler behaviours during the pandemic. Jory listened, commiserated and gave us useful tools that we could refer to time and time again; that addressed our concerns and also helped us to refine and revise our responses . We really liked that Jory was willing to cover all bases, (like connect with our child's teachers and caregivers), to get a full snapshot of our child. Jory also checked in and with us post-implementation to assess progress. We would unreservedly recommend Jory/Kids First. We have used her toolkit and have seen great improvement in our approach as parents and in our child's behaviour as a result.” Yolanda Plant

“Loved working with Jory. She had sound, simple advice that we could implement with our son. She was easy to talk to and was able to provide tangible relatable examples. Highly recommend her!” Dimitra Georgakis

“We've had an excellent experience working with Jory to help us become better parents for our children. She has coached us in many aspects of dealing with everyday life with our kids, a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. I highly recommend working with her if you need help on parenting.” Vicken Kanakjian

“As a first time mom, I've read all the books on how to raise kids just to make sure I was doing the right thing and not screwing up anything that could potentially have an impact on my son later in life. Reading these books certainly helped but when I was faced with situations that did not get resolved or showed any indication of improvement even when I used all the tools provided in the books, I felt powerless and well... desperate for a little guidance. That was until I met Jory. During our conversation, she listened carefully and asked all the right questions and was able to provide me with more specific tools so I could help my son with his tantrums. The tantrums were bad and I was concerned he would injure himself (banging head on the floor, etc...) That conversation with Jory truly felt like a huge relief and it's really helped me better understand how I needed to react to my son's tantrums so we could both learn how to deal with his big emotions and better manage them. I highly recommend Jory to anyone. If you need someone to talk to about your kids' behavior and be given the right tools, this is the person to call. Plus it felt like I was calling a friend, not a consultant or a therapist. Jory is truly amazing at what she does. She's passionate about kids and about helping parents work through their struggles with their little ones! Simply amazing”. Annie Daniel

“I engaged Jory both at the 1 year and 2 year mark for my twins - when I felt they were undergoing big changes and big feelings. In a single consult, Jory provided me reassurance and guidance I needed. She listens, works to understand the challenges at hand, and provides suggestions tailored to your child and parenting style. She has given us an amazing set of tools / tips and tricks that have worked time and time again! Thank you, Jory!” Robyn Hutman

“Jory conducted a workshop for us to support the single mothers we work with. Jory was wonderful to work with. She had a great dynamic with the mothers in her workshop. The information and support she provided was very valuable. Highly recommend. Thank you!” Talitha, Momentum Catholic Single Mothers Workshop, May 2021

“My husband and I have spoken to Jory a few times now regarding our 2-year-old. She is so relatable and gives examples of her own children, while always keeping it professional. Jory has a wealth of knowledge that she tailored perfectly to our personal situation. She has given us many helpful tips that have provided us with more confidence and patience in parenting our toddler” Diana Heckler

“Jory was a guest speaker at one of our family workshop sessions. She was attentive, well prepared, and offered incredible tips and tricks to our clientele. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with her in the future!” Ali, Happy Village International Foundation

“Jory Gruber was recommended to me by my child's Pediatrician for his eating difficulties and some anxieties he was feeling. I reached out to her right away and she was very quick to respond. She called me the next day and we organized an appointment to talk more in detail about my son. Jory was very patient with everything I had to say on the phone and she seemed so passionate about her work. It is nice to get help from someone who you feel truly cares. She was very honest about the cost and humble about herself. She told me that I can talk to her about anything and even offered to talk to ME if ever I felt anxious about my son's health. What I love the most is her approach to working with young children. She even spoke to my son on the phone. Jory is exactly who you want when it concerns the most precious things in our lives, our children.” Talyse Watson

“Jory gave me an excellent toolbox to use whenever facing issues with my 2.5 year old. I love how simple her tips are and how they can be applied in so Many different situations ! She is completely down to earth and “gets it” which makes her easy to talk to and a pleasure to work with.” Sarah Canzer

“Jory is very good at her job. She loves kids and loves helping them become the best versions of themselves that they can be. Whether she is helping the parents interact better with their child or helping the child learn how to handle their emotions, she provides the tools necessary to see results. My 6 year old has a difficult time with her negative emotions and with Jory's guidance, she is now able to calm herself down to the point where we rarely have the same intensity/number of tantrums as we used to. She's learned to put her triggers into perspective, and since the same rules apply to adults too, they actually helped me put my triggers into perspective too!” Alisa Tenenbaum

“Jory is incredible. She's attentive, understanding, and realistic! I took her advice and ran with it. Not only did she help me improve the way I handle tantrums, but she encouraged me every step of the way. She follows up, she listens, and she truly cares.” Alexa Azran

“Jory was incredibly helpful with tips and guidance on toilet readiness for my 2 year old. I knew of the books but wasn't really interested in the popular approach I had heard of and was looking more for ways to determine if my child was ready so I would feel comfortable that I wasn't pushing him too soon. Her tips so far have been spot on and even after a few days I've already noticed an increase in willingness to give the potty a try. Thank you so much, Jory!!!” Vanessa V.

“UPDATE post-potty-training: We took Jory's advice and after a week I'm so happy to report that our son has done spectacularly! He's had 2 accidents over the whole week and he's getting better and better everyday. After being home for the holidays, his teachers went out of their way to send us an email to tell us that his potty training has been a huge success and he's already asked to use the potty. This was within his first 2 hours back at school after being away for several weeks. We are so proud of him and felt so confident teaching him using the tips Jory provided. It was so stress-free and we really felt empowered to tackle it. Thank you so much, Jory!!!” Vanessa V.

I reached out to Jory when my son started throwing his food on the floor after every single meal. It wasn’t the typical messy situation, but a full blown chucking of the entire plate like it was a ball. It was beginning to make mealtime incredibly stressful and Jory provided us with guidance as well as reassurance on how to help him through that phase. Within a week he stopped throwing his food, which was awesome. I highly recommend Jory and would definitely use her again the future!” Sandrine K.

“We had the privilege in meeting Jory when our oldest was 5 years old. She helped us in understanding the development of the child. Her personality is infectious! She is so full of energy and sweet to work with. She explained to us how to deal effectively with our children’s tantrums, how to say no without no and she also helped us with the challenges of meal time. Our few calls that we had with Jory have been so incredibly helpful to our family. Home life is more peaceful :) Thank you Jory!” Robin H.

“The time spent away from formal daycare was a challenge for my son. He was out of his routine and showed zero interest in working on the skills that he should have been learning in class. After a consultation with Jory, I walked away with some great suggestions for games to play with him to work on his skills. More importantly, I felt calmer about the issues we were facing and more prepared to deal with my son moving forward.” Tiffany B.

“The best move I made was to contact Jory. I have a 2 and 4 year old at home and life is tough! I was constantly dealing with power struggles and fighting with my kids when I needed them to follow through. Jory spent time with us on Zoom, talked to us like she was our friend (not above us or better than us, just equal to us) and provided us with such effective tools in dealing with our children’s challenging behaviors. I am so glad we reached out. Things seem so much more simple now when my son throws toys or when my other son hits. I am also getting more sleep because my oldest son is now staying in bed all night, an issue that we were dealing with for a few months prior to calling Jory. I would highly recommend her to any parent looking for some simple and effective parenting tools.” Sacha L.

“We had a session with Jory and she gave us amazing tools that were life changing and so effective in how to deal with our toddlers tantrums. So happy to see such amazing results”. Anonymous
